Mid Cornwall Masons was appointed to take over this project after construction had stalled due to a number of significant issues identified by the local planning authority and Building Control.
Over the following 18 months, our team carefully assessed and rectified the defects left by the previous contractor, ensuring all works complied with current Building Regulations and planning requirements. Once the remedial work was complete, we successfully delivered the remainder of the construction to a high standard, restoring confidence in the project and providing the client with a fully compliant building.
Today, the building is fully operational and in regular use—a testament to the value of experienced craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality, even on the most challenging projects
Modern Kitchen, Utility & Bathroom Extension
This carefully designed extension has transformed a traditional 1920s cottage by creating a spacious new kitchen, utility room and contemporary bathroom, while remaining sympathetic to the character of the original property. Every aspect of the build was completed to blend seamlessly with the existing cottage, combining modern living with timeless craftsmanship.
To complement the period style, traditional granite quoins were expertly incorporated around the corners of the extension and the opening for the double-glazed bi-fold doors, creating a striking architectural feature. The result is a light-filled, practical living space that enhances the home while respecting its heritage, delivering a perfect balance of traditional Cornish masonry and modern construction.
